The 5th ranked player in college basketball is Russ Smith in my opinion. He is a little short for the shoot guard position standing at 6'0, but could move to the point guard position.
Russ Smith is averaging a solid 17 points per game and also 2 steals per game. He is a very solid defender that can take over the game on the offensive side of the ball to.

" Smith is A nuisance on the defensive end, and he's extremely difficult to guard on the offensive end".

The next top player is also a freshman his name is Andrew Wiggins. He shoots a solid 50% from the field and averages 16 points a game. He is also averaging 1.5 steals and 1 block a game which makes him a solid defender. He stands at 6'8 so he plays the small forward position. The small forward position is a tough position in the NBA but I think he's up to the challenge.

The Third ranked player of college basketball is Jabari Parker. At the age of 18 is one of the youngest people that will be in the 2014 NBA draft. Standing at 6'8 with a 7'0 reach is a very athletic. He is a well round player averaging 11 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. Jabari Parker has the speed and quickness for the NBA and is a sold defender. His offense is just as good if not better averaging 19 points per game shooting over 50% from the field and 40% from behind the line.

College Basketballs Best

The second best player in college basketball right now I believe is Marcus Smart who plays for Oklahoma State. He is averaging over 17 points a game and 6 rebounds per game. Standing at 6'4 with a 6'8 wingspan a very athletic guard who can put up big numbers on the score board. He is also averages 2.3 steals per game, 18th in the country for steals. He is not just an offensive player but also a defensive player. Marcus Smart is projected to go 5th in the 2014 NBA draft but I believe that he will go higher.

"Smart can dominate a game in so many different ways, but what I’ve been most impressed with has been his ability to rebound the ball now that Michael Cobbins is out. In the five games since then, Smart is averaging 9.6 rebounds."

The best college basketball player in the country is Doug McDermott and is projected to go number 1 in the 2014 NBA draft. McDermott averages 25 PPG, 7.1 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists per game, and is shooting 50% from the field this season. The last person to have these kind of averages was Kevin Durant and he is now the best scorer in the NBA. The potential that Doug McDermott has is unlimited.
"McDermott's game winner adds to the unassailable national player of the year resume he's gradually assembling. He sank 10 of 17 shots from inside the arc, buried 5 of 9 threes and finished with 39 points, more than half Creighton's scoring output for the game. He is now averaging 25.0 points per game this season."
